Archie J. Old, Jr. (b. 1906, Farmersville, Tex.-d. Mar. 24, 1984), U.S. Air Force officer, enlisted as a private in the Texas National Guard in 1930, completed flying training and was commissioned in the Air Reserve in 1932. He was ordered to extended active duty in 1940, and in 1942 assumed command of the 96th Bomb Group and moved to the European Theater. John Dale Ryan (1915-1983) was the Seventh Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force.
